The CWAS AstroFest is back

As we slowly ease out of the COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 CWAS AstroFest is returning to the Central West, with a reduced programme of events. We are hopeful that next year, when the COVID-19 restrictions are fully lifted, and it is safe to travel widely again, the AstroFest will be back to normal, with a full programme of events.

This year, the AstroFest will be a one day event, held on Saturday, 24 July 2021, at the CSIRO Parkes Observatory Visitor's Centre. The programme is:

Venue: CSIRO Parkes Observatory Visitors Centre - Saturday, 24 July 2021

9:00 AM - Registration (Free of charge this year)
Throughout the day daytime astronomy viewings will be conducted on the lawns of the Visitors Centre by members of the CWAS. Telescopes will be set up in the grounds of the Visitors Centre, for viewing the bright stars, planets, the Sun and the Moon during daylight (weather permitting)
Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase at the Dish Cafe
2:00 PM - The 2021 CWAS "John Bolton Lecture"
3:30 PM - Presentation of the 2021 CWAS "David Malin Awards"
5:00 PM - Official Opening of the 2021 CWAS "David Malin Awards" exhibition in the Bowen Room
    6:30 PM - Conference Dinner
